The race covers 12 kilometers (7.46 miles) through city streets and Golden Gate Park. The race starts at Howard and Spear Streets at the foot of the Bay Bridge, crosses Market Street, climbs the Hayes Street hill, and continues through Golden Gate Park. The finish line is at the Great Highway above the Pacific Ocean.

Breakers' Best Spectator Viewing:

Painted Ladies & Hayes Street Hill: Just beyond the 2-mile mark is the infamous half-mile-long Hayes Street hill, home to some of San Francisco's most picturesque Victorian buildings.

Golden Gate Park: The course passes several Golden Gate Park landmarks, including the Conservatory of Flowers, the buffalo paddock, and the Dutch Windmill and Queen Wilhelmina Tulip Garden, which mark the home stretch down to the Great Highway and the Pacific Ocean.

Finish Line (Great Highway): Share the excitement of viewers gathering to watch runners push past their limits to cross the finish line.
